On January 25, 2025, the Toronto Consulate Office of Bangladesh hosted a Consular Camp in Waterloo to serve the community of Waterloo and the surrounding area. Around 120 families/individuals received various services at the camp throughout the day, from 9:30 am to 7 pm, such as:

  • No Visa Required (NVR)
  • E-Passport (new/re-issue)
  • Birth Registration
  • Dual Nationality Certificate
  • Attestation of Documents
  • Machine Readable Passport (MRP, re-issue)
  • Driver’s License Authentication Certificate
  • Power of Attorney
  • Visa Services

In addition, there was a booth to ask questions. Consul General Md Faruk Hossain was present for a few hours to meet, share information, and gather feedback from the community.

We thank the consular office staff Fahmida Sultana, Consul of the Bangladesh High Commission in Toronto, and KWC camp in charge, Farhana Islam, Consular Officer, and another member of their team for their sincere commitment to working on a weekend for such long hours.

Our heartiest and special thanks go to the volunteers who worked that day and before to ensure the event went smoothly, whether by greeting and guiding the families in the right direction, providing technical support, arranging food and logistics, or handling any other tasks that were required.

Last but not least, kindest thanks to Dr. Rubayet Al Maruf and Shawon Arefin (Shimon), who were behind this from beginning to end.

We look forward to having more similar events that are useful and in demand for our community.
