In September 2023, a powerful earthquake devastated the lives of many in Morocco. Together with other humanitarian organizations worldwide, we raised funds from within the Region of Waterloo, Ontario, and from our members and supporters around the world. Anwara Begum, a woman from Rangpur, Bangladesh, was already affected by the Rana Plaza building collapse in Dhaka a few years ago. In December 2021, BDKWWF successfully organized its Holiday Food Drive. A total of 700 lbs of food items, worth $1,036, and equivalent to 546 meals, were delivered to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region on December 22, 2021.
Muhammad, a 5.5-year-old boy from Bangladesh, has been undergoing critical surgeries since he was just 13 days old due to bladder complexities affecting his kidneys. Having already undergone over four surgeries, his doctors have recommended a kidney transplant. Arrangements for the surgery have been made at St. John’s Research Institute Read more
