Heartfelt thanks to the generous donors of BDKWWF! With your unwavering support, we successfully continued our humanitarian projects throughout 2023. Below, you can find a summary of the causes your valuable contributions have supported:

A total of $19,700.00 was distributed last year, raised through membership fees and the kind donations of our community members.

April 2023

• 4th installment of tuition fees for a medical student in Bangladesh under the Dr. Monzur Kabir Scholarship Program.
  $750.00
• Earthquake relief for people in Türkiye and Syria (via the Turkish Culture and Folklore Society of Canada, KW representative). The funds were used for rehabilitation programs in the affected areas.
  $2,500.00
• Donations collected from the KW community and others by Hasna Begum Lovely for ORCA and other projects in Bangladesh. (ORCA Homes are orphanages in Bangladesh operated by the Old Rajshahi Cadet Association.)
  $12,300.00

October 2023

• Emergency relief for the earthquake victims of Morocco (via Islamic Relief Canada, Burlington, ON).
  $2,000.00

November 2023

• 5th installment of tuition fees for a medical student in Bangladesh under the Dr. Monzur Kabir Scholarship Program.
  $750.00
• Annual donation to The Cancer Research Society.
  $150.00
• Annual donation to The Canadian Red Cross.
  $150.00

December 2023

• Holiday Food Drive for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region: 810 lbs of food items, valued at $1,100, were purchased and donated on December 20, 2023.
